Hello, Birthday!
It may lose me some macho points to confess how much I love Badtz Maru, Hello Kitty and many of the other Sanrio characters. On the other hand, when you have little to lose, why not? Actually, freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose. Or, maybe being brave enough to put this news out there shows just how strong and manly I really am. Or, who cares.....
The truth is, no one saw quite how big and icon Hello Kitty would become, but she is now one of the most popular and recognizable cartoon characters in the world. Nov. 1st was her birthday.

Hey yeah...I have a strange fondness for Ms. Hello Kitty as well, but that doesn't mean I am going out and buying any of her stuff. Oddly, on the day this post appeared, I was walking from work to my car and spotted something on the ground, partially covered by a pile of leaves...it was a Hello Kitty doll in a happy meal wrapper! I brought it home and dried it out (it had been raining...it is fall in OR after all) and gave it to little Miss H as a fun gift from Dadoo. But of course she was pleased...who wouldn't be? And until today, I had no idea that it was Ms. Kitty's birthday. How's that for synchronicity? Peace, TPDX
