Begin the Begin
Who sang "Begin the Begin", and what kind of wood were we splittin'? I'll buy you a beer.
What's up wtih what's going down? Does a tree falling on the ocean with no one around make a sound? Barbecue, BBQ, Bar-b-que. It's all in how you sell it.

Ok. I'll bite.
Looks like oak.
And "Begin the Beguine" was orignally Cole Porter, then covered by Artie Shaw.
Do I get that beer?
Yeah, iI was going to say Cole Porter, but then I looked closer and realized your spelling was different...
So, I guess you are refering to Michael Stipe of R.E.M. singing a song composed by Bill Berry from the album "Life's Rich Pagent" (I think).
I don't know about the wood, but I'll guess apple, just for the heck of it. Even though it doesn't look like it really.
Um, that last comment was mine, but F$#@'n blogger wouldn't let me sign in for some reason, so I got frustrated and commented annonymously. Sorry.
"Judges??"
Looks like I may have to buy several beers...I'll accept the Jazzier answer by Mr. WhiteTrashBBQ, while Mr. Primo is on the money with the REM response...
I'm gonna let some more guesses go on the sticks....
Is PBR ok with you fellas?
No, I won't accept that beer. I should have known the song reference. I have REM album.
As for the wood, it may be maple, but maple usually has some red in it.
