A Moment Like This
Spent the weekend out of town with The Wife and some friends of ours that have a 9-month-old baby. What a workout! That kid is exhaustingly cute. And exhausting.
As always, we ate well...stuffed ourselves, really. Everyone had to unbutton their pants after dinner each night.....Ooof!
We had ribs, chicken, brisket, pancakes, eggs, tacos/taco salad, pizza, macaroni and cheese, roasted sweet potatoes, cupcakes and more....! The bread was probably the best I've ever made-- I don't bake that often and find it frustrating. This was a dough with just flour, yeast, salt, water and a little olive oil. Kind of a pizza dough that I let rise and punched down a bunch of times. I let it sit in the fridge overnight, then come up to room temp on the counter before I put it on a baking sheet and let it go. Great crust, silky inside.

Dinner looks fantastic, having a 4 year old and a 4 month old it is hard to make meals like that any more. Your friends with the 9 month old were very lucky for this meal.
What happened to the ribs?
Now they're back.
What are you a gosh darned Houdini?
Thanks, Bradley! I can only imagine how hard it would be to cook much of anything other than canned soup with kids at those ages! LoL. My friends were really great eaters...it was good for the ego.
WTBBQ: I'm not sure what happened with the pictures, but "But try to understand, try to understand
Im a magic man!"
I think the ribs were disenfranchised by the Bush administration.
Hillary was for the ribs before she was against the ribs.
Dang Backyard, that looks like some fine eatin' I need to move to New York.
B.D.
Terry-- you can't fool me, I've seen your page and know that the good vittles are at your house! Thanks for the nice comments, though...
Anon-- Hillary ate the ribs before she didn't.
