Teenagers from Mars: overeating and margaritas

Last weekend was a busy weekend of eating. My father, brother, The Wife and I all got together for a relaxing food fest.

There was brisket, and brisket quesadillas with scrambled eggs, caramelized onions, heirloom tomato salsa, cheddar cheese and sour cream. We also fire roasted plum tomatoes and cooked them down to make ketchup for burgers made of sweet sausage and sirloin. I added just a splash or two of Worcestershire and stubbs bbq sauce to the meat and then cooked the burgers over the last embers of the day's cherry wood.

Sounds like you had a great time. Glad your dad made the trip.

It was fun, Steve. We'll have to get together and recreate that utterly bloated over-eaten feeling some time soon.

It was great seeing you the other day. Let's not let too much time pass before we do it again.

Thanks, BBQ Festivals. You're welcome to pull up a seat.

And, thanks, WTBBQ!

I peeled and seeded the tomatoes, then cooked them down to a paste, then added some onion and garlic powder, a little vinegar, some Worcestershire and other ingredients. It was sweet, tart and slightly smoky. Nothing like what you get in a supermarket.
