If I Had A Boat
Morning, Kiddos. In case you hadn't noticed, Most of the songs that I've been sharing have been on a theme of travel-- we had trains (Wabash Cannonball), Cars (Beach Boys 409 and Dwight Yoakam's Guitars, Cadillacs) and now we have boats-- ta da! So, I updated the Music To 'Que By song w/ Lyle Lovett's If I Had A Boat. Look on the left side of the page under Smoke Signals.
I hope you all have a great weekend. I miss my Wubby, but maybe next weekend we'll burn some wood together. Aint she pretty?

Wubby's gonna leave you if you don't give her more attention.
If you don’t treat her right,
my friend,
you’re going to find her gone,
‘Cos I will treat her right,
and then you’ll be the lonely one.
You’re going to lose that girl, you’re going to lose that girl.
I’ll make a point
of taking her away from you, yeah,
The way you treat her
what else can I do?

Hardy-har, funnyman! As if I'd ever let you know I live!!
Seriously, though, I hope you're having a good weekend. I got to help my bro and sister-in-law get set to move yesterday. They have a baby due in early July, so it's an exciting time. Hey-- good luck w/ your event!! I hope that it runs smoothly.
After packing last night, we had an amazing wood-fired pizza from Goodfellas in Bay Ridge-- crisp-lightly-charred crust, sausage, roasted pepper and fresh garlic, with buttery fresh mozzarella-- can you say yum?
PS-- I meant "where I live".
Danger: spaz typist.....
Oh man. Good thing you said Godfella's in Bay Ridge.
Goodfella's is always listed as one of the best pizza places in NYC. When my wife was in the burn unit in Staten Island, I took the kids to Goodfella's on Staten Island for dinner. We parked in the back.
It was kinda late and we had a great meal and Goodfella's lived up to it's rep. I think we were the last people in the place. As we walked from the front door and around the back to the parking lot, you could look into the kitchen becaue the back door was wide open. There was no screen door. There was nothing preventing anyone or anything from entering the kitchen.
And there they were, playing right out side the back door - about half a dozen rats. It was surreal. They behaved like a pack of kittens looking for a meal.
That was our last trip to Goodfellas Staten Island. Stick with Mother Moose.
Yowza!
I haven't eaten from the one in Staten Island in a long while, and now I won't be back. I know there's vermin in most restaurants, but for some reason when you see them or hear about it, that's the killer. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain just doesn't cut it w/ rats....
TPDX sez..."That's my very favorite Lyle Lovett song. Smile!
Yo, TPDX-- me, too! That's such a good one and people always refer to his 'jazzy-smooth' tunes, but they leave me a bit cold. I just deleted Lyle from the Songs to 'que by, but if you need/want it, let me know....
