The Hampton Smoker

What's up wtih what's going down? Does a tree falling on the ocean with no one around make a sound? Barbecue, BBQ, Bar-b-que. It's all in how you sell it.

Patience

Well, friends, we got the new car today-- well, new to us. It's a 2001 Chevy Blazer and the color is "champagne," or as I've been saying, silvery-gold. The new smoker will be ready on Tuesday, but I think we'll have to wait until Saturday, the ninth to pick it up. Oh, I can't wait! The picture above gives you a pretty good idea of what we'll be getting-- almost exactly that. Aint it purty?

I leave you with two websites that I heartily endorse:

Pigtrip which is an awesome site dedicated to reviewing bbq joints in New York and Boston-- and everything in between!

The BBQ Odyssey which is YankeeBBQ's (Steve Farrin of the teams I Smell Smoke! and Team Agave) blog documenting his trip out to Reno to compete on the upcoming season of Outdoor Life Network's All-Star BBQ Showdown. These are among the best bbq cookers you can find anywhere, so the competition will be TOUGH. Good luck, Steve!

I know, Kate, we're calling her "Large Marge"! You have to name your cooker, or it's bad luck.

Where to store it? Close by...hardy-har-har...

Thanks, s'kat! We can cook for a real crowd, so come on by!

Holy Pig! That cooker is fantastic. My mind is reeling with the possibilities. Every holiday could be a fantastic smoking extravaganza! Every weekend! Every day!!!

So where are you keeping Marge? In some cheap motel like a mistress waiting for your lust to bubble to the surface?

Thanks, Terry. Will do. I'm picking her up on Saturday and I can't wait...There will be a full report w/ pictures as soon as possible.

WTBBQ, our styles are just different. You stick with your no-tell motels, and I will keep my Marge in the place of honor she deserves.

Hey Jackson, thanks for stopping by! Malaysia seems so interesting to me. Since it's so hot there i guess you'll just have to come to one of our cook-outs...We'll leave a light on for you.
