HAA! Latke contest? That's great. I can't believe you have a friend who does it. So funny! Literally once a week we cover eatin contests..I think last week it was meatballs. One of my friends actually went to it down in Atlantic City or something. Heard of "The Black Widow?" She's sooo tiny but somehow seems to be able to keep up with Kobayashi! She's crazy!

My friend is about 5' or so and under 100 pounds, but she can put it away. She tried to get into the coney isl hot dog contest-- maybe this year....Have you ever watched the competitions on tv? I remember one woman who jumped up and down to compact the food in her stomach. They edited the footage down and made passing reference to "reversal of fortune"-- I believe that's polite code for barfing. That was about when I realized how insane the whole thing is. Oh, and I started to wonder about gluttony in the face of world poverty, but that's a whole other story.....Cheers!
